Vespa Giro Speciale 2024
A Journey Into the Past

The Vespa Giro Speciale 2024 event offered a truly unique experience, taking us back to the world of street motorbike races from the 1950s and 1960s, where Vespa earned success after success thanks to its outstanding performance! Only traditional gearshift and two-stroke Vespas could participate in the event, with a limited number of participants, and the race took place across Hungary, Austria, and Slovenia.

During the event, each participant had the opportunity to test their mental and technical preparation, as the race was not just a physical challenge, but a true test for both the bikes and the riders. However, the biggest challenge was not just with the competitors, but with the weather and terrain conditions. Over the course of three days, we covered more than 700 km on narrow, unpaved roads, but through a breathtaking environment – along streams and waterfalls, over mountains and valleys.

The race not only tested the participants physically, but also created a unique community experience, with the excitement of the adventure and the thrill of the competition. Many participants exceeded expectations when they arrived at the starting point by Vespa, having already covered thousands of extra kilometers on foot. Vespa Giro Speciale was an experience that brought together the excitement of action, the passion for culture and gastronomy, and the creation of new friendships.

Event Program:

2024.09.05. Thursday

The adventure of Vespa Giro Speciale began on Thursday with registration in Novákfalva between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, where participants met for the first time. At 7:30 PM, the event officially kicked off with a welcome and briefing for the "competitors," followed by a shared dinner at 8:00 PM.

2024.09.06. Friday

Friday was the big start day! Between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, everyone had breakfast, and at 9:30 AM, the Vespa Giro Speciale officially began! The first meal was held at 1:00 PM in Austria, where the team recharged to continue the journey. The day ended around 7:00 PM with check-in at the hotel, followed by dinner to relax after the first day's efforts.

2024.09.07. Saturday

The Saturday morning began with breakfast from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and at 9:00 AM, the race continued. The journey led to Slovenia, where we had lunch at 1:00 PM, recharged, and continued the journey. At 7:30 PM, the participation certificates for the Vespa Giro Speciale were awarded, "ARRIVO," followed by a gala dinner at 8:00 PM in Hungary.

2024.09.08. Sunday

On the final day of the event, we had breakfast between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and at 10:00 AM, the Vespa Giro Speciale EXTRA began, offering additional challenges for the boldest participants. This "EXTRA" program was an exciting way for the most determined to test their most ambitious plans. During this extra adventure, we visited Kurt Schermann, the owner of one of Austria's largest private Vespa museums, where a time-travel experience was guaranteed. The participants of the Vespa Giro Speciale paid a well-deserved tribute to Vespa’s cultural and technical history, exploring the exclusive pieces of the brand's history and discovering the dedication that the legendary brand has shown to the world of motorbikes for decades.

The Vespa Giro Speciale offered a community experience that neither weather conditions nor tough terrain could stop. The event was not just a race but an adventure that brought participants closer not only physically but also emotionally. By exploring the gastronomy, culture, and landscapes of different countries, new friendships were made, and this three-day adventure will remain an unforgettable memory for all.
